Cania Blue Fin Boats Bass Electric 15th July

The 16 Anglers who turned up
to fish cania were greeted with constant drizzle which turned into showers and
a howling wind before a lull in the weather, with calm conditions for the weigh
in.

Most reports were of tough
fishing with the result confirming that you really had to work for the fish. 6
Anglers weighed in fish with 3full bags for the tournament.

Past event winner Shane
Anderson won today’s event with a 2.218 kg limit. His 1.204 kg kicker fish also
took out big bass.

Anderson fished with a
custom rod matched to a Quantum re-ax reel spooled wtih 10lb fins braid and
12lb vanish leader. On the business end was a brown dog jackall – when quizzed
on this he replied this was his go to lure. He travelled way up the backof the
dam to the start of the timber, here he found bass in the middle but found that
the active fish were on the edges. He landed 3
legal bass for the session.

Completing the one-two for
bundaberg bassers was Rob Hinton. The tackle used was a 6’6″ Dropshot rod
with a penn reel. This was spooled with 8lb suffix braid and 8lb nitlon leader.
Hinton found fish prefishing but found a school and used a gold rapala ice jig
to get
his limit. He commented that
he had checked the area during prefish and there was no school there but on
comp day bingo! Like Shane, Rob also landed 3 legals.

Special Thanks to Boyd
Stewart who helped run the event.
