Shane Shines at Cania
Clear skies greeted anglers for the final 2 day event at Cania. The Saturday afternoon session ended with a hot bite for a lot of anglers, while others found fish all afternoon but struggled to get the kicker. Sunday morning saw an early bite and the angler who came out on top was Bundaberg TackleWorld employee, Shane Anderson.
Shane fished a steep bank and threw gold Little Max blades to the edges
as well as using Strike Pro ice jigs. Shane said that the bass would
quite often hit the blade on the drop and the first thing he would know about it was when his line was screaming out past the boat.
Shane used a G Loomis rod matched with a Quantam Smoke baitcaster. The win is one of many for Shane but his second at Cania.
Darren Harris finished second and like Shane, he threw blades. Darren fished Strike Pro blades in the main basin and in the second session
had both of his keepers wrap him around trees, but some fancy footwork
on the electric saw him untangling and netting both the fish to finish runner-up.
in all it was a great comp with all anglers catching fish. Bass were
caught on surface lures, blades, fly and ice jigs. As well as bass a few toga were caught as well. – Chris Horne
