Daiwa Lake Boondooma BASS Pro- Press Release

The ABT BASS Pro Series returns to Lake Boondooma
after a long absence, with the second round of the 2009 series visiting the rejuvenated
tournament venue, 25/26th April.

With a recent rise in water level
and a predicted hot bite, anglers are champing at the bit to tangle with the
growing and eager bass of one of South Burnett’s premier bass dams.

The event will feature the
best-of-the-best of tournament BASS fishing, with current Grand Final and AOY
Champion Carl Jocumsen, past AOY title holder Steve ‘Killer’ Kanowski, past
Grand Final Champions Tim Morgan and Kerry Symes and former Boondooma event
victor David Green hitching their boats on and making the trip to Boondooma.

With a record field on the cards
and set to eclipse the 72 boat field at Glenbawn in February, the Daiwa
presented event is building to be one of the highlights of the tournament

Wondai Shire Council and the local
community have joined forces with ABT for the event, with food stalls, and local fishing club displays, both interactive and static on offer for visitors before
and during the Sunday morning weigh-in (11.30am). ABT, AFC, Daiwa and sponsor
giveaways will be on offer throughout the weigh-in so don’t miss out.

The tournament venue will receive
an overhaul from the standard BASS Pro set-up, with the tournament stage, holding
tubs and score tents utilized to show tournament bass fishing off to the
masses. Anglers will be interviewed onstage and pumped for information on where
and how they caught their tournament limit.

We’ll also save the best to last
with the top ten boaters weighed last and a leader’s hot seat hanging anglers
out to dry and showing the chasing pack the angler to catch.
Utilised on the BASS tour at the
final day of last year’s BASS Pro Grand Final at St Clair, this BREAM styled
weigh-in format is a great way to show off the nail biting nature of tournament
fishing and helps show case the sport of bass fishing.
